ageism in the workplace
fall 2016

strategy team, cultural issue

task
vcu's school of gerontology needed help, they were looking for a way to ease the tensions between generations in the workplace.

defining the problem
many industries were looking at silicon valley as a leader of the new economy and were incorporating its business practices into their own industry -- tech also happened to be one of the worst culprits of ageism. so we directed our attention to understanding age diversity in tech.

our solution
we presented a plan for the gerontologists to develop and deliver to human resources departments. our plan coaxes relations on two-fronts: internally, between current employees, and externally, between companies and potential employees.
